Hey everyone! In some previous blog posts, I mentioned that I’m struggling with an injury to my drawing arm. Although I hoped that the problem would have totally gone away after more than a month of rest, it actually hasn’t, and I’m still struggling with it at this very moment. It’s…
This is great advice. Take breaks, guys! Along with your pencils, paints and tablets, your hand is also your tool and you must keep it in great condition. No use overworking yourself! It will only cause more trouble along the way.
Personally, my right wrist is SO much weaker than my left. I occasionally get pains in my wrist when I use my drawing hand for anything. One time, during yoga, I was struggling with a pose where I had to balance on my right arm. My wrist hurt so much that every couple of seconds, I had to rest. My instructor noticed and then showed the class stretches for your wrists!
I didn’t realize that your wrist, much like when you use your legs for running, need stretching too!
Now before I sit down to draw, I try to stretch and prepare my hand for the long day of work.
